Plano is located just north of Dallas and is renowned for its golf courses, attractions and numerous shopping opportunities. For those who enjoy golf, Plano features four courses with at least 18 holes. The annual three-day Balloon Festival is a popular event that occurs at the end of September. The festival features a remarkable display of hot-air balloons, an art show and live entertainment. For fans of the former television show Dallas, Southfork Ranch is a must-see destination. Located in Parker, just a few minutes drive outside Plano, the Ranch offers tours of the Ewing Mansion and displays memorabilia from the show. Shopping is a major activity in Plano, and the city boasts over 70 small shopping centers, two malls, an outlet mall and a historic downtown shopping district. The JC Penney Museum is a popular destination for history buffs and shopping enthusiasts.
Tourist Attractions

The Heritage Farmstead Museum offers a four acre complex with row crops, gardens, a windmill and a completely restored 1891 Victorian farmhouse with twelve original outbuildings.
